  2. We found Arctic poppies in rocky areas that weren't too wet. The leaf is a basal and pinnate. The flower has five pedals, and is yellow. It is about 8 to 10 inches tall. The stem is furry, and so are the leaves. The poppy flower always faces the sun so it can stay warm. To do this, the stem grows unevenly. The side away from the sun grows faster, tipping the flower toward the sun. USES: None that we learned of.
